About the UK Chapter of the IPBA
The first Chair and founder of the Chapter was Jan Burke who formed the group
in response to many requests from UK members of the IPBA who felt somewhat
isolated in what seemed a lonely hobby. Jan asked the Board of the IPBA if
we could have our own chapter. The Board approved and the UK Chapter was formed
in March 2001 at an inaugural meeting held near Gatwick.
The convention in October 2001 was the first major event to be hosted by the
group. Another successful convention was held in October 2002 and the following years have confirmed that the UK Convention has become an established and
important date in the
perfume collectors' calendar.
Chair person for 2003/4 was Pamela Taylor, who is well known in the perfume
community having written a book "Heavenly Scents", published in
2000. Pamela now lectures on a variety of topics, including Thomas Hardy,
Victorian dolls, antique silver and of course, perfume bottles.
The current UK Chapter Chair person, from 2005/6, is Angie Holmes who has
been a member of the UK Chapter almost since it's formation.
